Wael Arakji gets MVP of the Week award for West Asia Super League (by Hoops Agents)

Wael Arakji (194-G-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 29-year old guard got a double-double of 17 points and eleven assists, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Al Shurtah (#3, 0-2) with 32-point margin 115-83. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Al Riyadi to consolidate first place in the West Asia Super League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Al Riyadi won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Arakji had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Al Riyadi and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Arakji has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 8.0apg) and averages solid 69.2% FGP and 44.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Clinton Chapman (208-F/C-1989, agency: Diamond Sports) of Kazma. Chapman impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Kazma to another comfortable win outscoring Al Shamal (#4, 0-3) 101-75. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Kazma consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 1-2 record. Chapman is a newcomer at Kazma and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Kazma's star - American Travis Leslie (193-F/G-1990). Leslie scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was another key player of Kazma, helping his team with a 101-75 easy win against #4 ranked Al Shamal. The chances of Kazma not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Leslie could try to bring Kazma's a little bit higher in the standings. Leslie has individually a great season in West Asia Super League. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.3ppg (9th best).
